5 out of 5 stars Chin-up strips   July 15, 2010

I tape them OVER MY MOUTH. Then the lips are really sealed. Very easy to rip off by running a finger nail across the lips. 50 cents each is a little too much. Ebay sells them for 29 cents each. The seller is from Korea.

4 out of 5 stars Great product but with a specific purpose   January 13, 2010

I am currently using the tan boomerang version of the chin up strips. Just ordered 4 packs of this version. These are adhesive fabric strips which you apply under your chin. The side extensions go up both sides of your mouth. They work by keeping your lips closed.

The sales pitch is a bit extravigant in the sense that I don't believe these will reduce snoring. Maybe they will help with dry mouth. There is one use which is well worth the cost. If you are an apnea sufferer using CPAP and a face mask, you may be experiencing mouth breathing. When mouth breathing happens, the CPAP mask fails because the air is now going out your mouth, rather than pressurizing your throat so so you can breathe and sleep.

Chin strips prevent or at least significantly reduce mouth breathing. At least, they work great for me. I have severe apnea, in case you could not tell. Chin strips are a God send when used with a CPAP mask. I intend to keep buying and using them.

There are some problems. The adhesive is very strong. In the morning, the strip feels like it is going to rip the skin off your face. They make a warm water removalble version, but I have not been able to find these for sale. However after six months use, my skin has toughened, and strong adhesive is no longer troublesome.

For the most part, this is a great product, but only for CPAP users. Not too sure about any other use.
