5 out of 5 stars Amazing! (With a little modification)   May 12, 2008

All right, my first reaction to the cheesy name was the sense that I was about to throw away $60 for a worthless piece of plastic. Still, after being diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and not wanting to be hooked up to an expensive machine that would make me look like Darth Vader, I said what the heck and sent for one.

My confidence was shaken further when it arrived with no instructions and strange random black bits embedded in its translucent plastic (lousy quality control, guys). I tried it. It had a retaining doohickey that dug into my inside lower gums, making them sore enough that eating an apple later the next day was excruciating. And yet...despite the discomfort, it was the best night of sleep I'd had in years. And no snoring for the first time in years, reported my long-suffering wife.

So, I did what apparently they tell you not to do in the instructions I never got: I took scissors and trimmed the plastic doohickey a little bit at a time until it didn't hurt my gums any more. Voila. Solved the problem. And now, several weeks later, I'm still sleeping deeply without snoring. My patience, concentration and mood are vastly improved, and I believe the apnea is under control.

I'm surprised, amazed, and very grateful. Best cheesy-named bit of plastic I've bought in years.

5 out of 5 stars No more snoring or apnea   July 25, 2008

The Snore Wizard works better than anything I've ever tried. My apnea was bad. I even unsuccessfully wore a C-Pap (I couldn't keep the mask on throughout the night). With the Snore Wizard is a bit uncomfortable for the first few nights. Expect your jaw to ache slightly in the morning till you get used to it. A good sleep mask & ear plugs are worth trying. Best of all, check out the book "The Hibernation Diet" by Michael McInnes. Science suggests that taking some honey prior to bedtime improves sleep dramatically. Your body heals much better & you even lose weight. It been a miracle for me. I've recommended it to lots of sleep deprived people & it works for everyone, but one.

It took me a several tries to get used to sleeping with something in my mouth, but after that it worked wonders. I have stopped snoring, sleep much, much, longer than usual, and awake more refreshed than I have in countless years.
Highly reccommended!

5 out of 5 stars Saved My Life - and Stopped My Sleep Apnea   April 12, 2009

How do you rate a product that saves your life? I have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea that has led to 2 operations (partially successful) and a miserable half awake dazed state for the last 15 years and getting progressively worse. I would get sleepy driving. I couldn't concentrate or stay awake in meetings and my comprehension and memory was terrible.
Out of desperation I tried this. Yes it's uncomfortable but when I finally got a full nights sleep with it I felt reborn. I have energy, I'm not in a daze, I don't get tired driving and I feel very sharp and alert. My memory is great and everyone tells me I'm like a new person. Thank you for making this. It's been a lifesaver and I'm writing this to let others know that this does work (and is a lot easier to deal with than a cpap machine). As far as the discomfort - who cares if you can feel like this. Oh and as for my snoring, it helped somewhat but I really didn't buy it for that.

5 out of 5 stars Works as advertised   September 7, 2008

It takes about 2 weeks to get used to it, but this really works. Because the Snore Wizard can force you to breath through your mouth all night, you may wake up with a dry mouth, but that is a small price to pay for not snoring and keeping your spouse happy. It is also pretty easy to clean.
